Last week, a day before we would have a heavy snow fall, I drove out to the barn under a sky that felt still and unhurried. While cars drove quickly down the winding wet road I took in the huge rainbow that stretched out in front of me. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else notices it, or if we all rush from one place to the next, missing the quiet beauty hidden in everyday moments.
This rainbow looked incredible because as I drove down a winding curving road, my car would go from one direction to the next facing each end of the rainbow. I could see the full curve from one side to the other.
The clouds were a deep, moody blue, carrying a calm that settled over me. I knew when I got on the road that the rain was going to come, it was already drizzling, but for whatever reason mother nature held it back. Instead, the sun still shone brightly, breaking through the clouds in warm streaks of light. It was fascinating to watch.
Then suddenly, a rainbow appeared, stretching boldly across the sky. Its colours were vivid and clear, standing out against the stormy backdrop. I could even see the end of the rainbow in the field, the rays of colour shining down. It was so special.
Reaching the barn, I stepped out of the car so happy to see that the rainbow was still in full view. I wanted to take it in. The air was damp, the light glowed gold, and the rainbow stretched across the sky, calm and unhurried. This was a reminder to me that art is all around us and that the most glorious artist of all is mother nature.
Here are a few photos I took, I hope you enjoy them!

This is Barney I used to ride him at another barn and am so happy to see him here!
