Hi Everyone, today we are drawing fish! Specifically Rainbow Trout (drawing 1) and a variety of Tropical Fish (drawing 2). Scroll down for photo references.
If you came here from my YouTube drawing channel thank you for watching! Feel free to tag me on instagram (Krista Irene Art) if you share your drawings I would love to see them!

Drawing Fish Process
Drawing whimsical, colorful fish is a fun and creative way to explore both imagination and nature.
Tropical fish offer endless inspiration with their bright hues, bold patterns, and unique shapes. Rainbow trout bring a softer, magical shimmer with their iridescent pinks, greens, and silvers.

Experimenting with different art supplies can add depth and texture to your fish drawings. Each combination of art supplies that you use can bring out a different mood and texture, bringing your fish to life.
In my drawings I used gel pen, gouache, food coloring (yes – I love it), watercolour pencil and oil pastels.

I had so much fun drawing fish today. I want to try again with different art supplies to see if I can improve not only my sketching but also layering of colours.
